Temporary roof scaffolding is a sheeted, weatherproof cover built over a building on a supporting scaffold, so roofing, refurbishment or structural work can continue in any weather. The frame clear-spans the structure. No load sits on the existing roof.

What does a temporary roof scaffolding system include?
A temporary roof scaffolding system from First Point Scaffolding is a complete covered structure, not sheeting over a standard scaffold. A typical installation includes:
- A supporting scaffold designed to carry the roof loads and, where required, provide working lifts and access to the elevations
- A spanning roof frame built to clear the building below, so no load is placed on the existing roof structure
- Weatherproof sheeting fixed over the frame to shed rain and resist wind uplift
- Gable ends and edge protection to close off the covered area and protect the working deck
- Working platforms, ladder access and handrails for the trades operating beneath the cover
- Design and calculations where the structure falls outside standard configurations
- Risk assessments, method statements and a digital handover issued before the scaffold is used
- Scheduled inspections for the duration of the hire, plus dismantle and removal on completion
Openings can be designed into the cover where materials need to be loaded in or out by crane. Tell us at survey stage if that applies.
